Specialized school №16 is situated in the picturesque part of ancient Kyiv. Although it was founded 68 years ago and has got glorious fame, traditions and customs, it is also well known by the innovations in managing educational process, participating in international projects and implementation the modern methods of teaching and tutoring.

School is specialized in learning foreign languages: English, German and French.
Gives the schoolchildren an opportunity to get academician standard of studying English and basic knowledge of German and French.

It provides classical system of education that is directed to deepen humanitarian subjects.

The Principle of the school is Mykola Korol who has been managing school for 18 years. School staff consists of the 70 professional teachers that do their best to educate 740 schoolchildren of the age from 6 till 18 years old. In teaching process are implemented new technologies of tutoring that makes the process of learning oriented on the personality of the child, is used project methods, interactive learning, multi media facilities of teaching complex, was created a local-net of the school computer complex that helps creating mutual telecommunicate projects.

While working in international projects, school cooperates with the Commission in the UNESCO affairs of Ukraine, British Council, French Cultural Center, German Embassy, British Embassy, the Representative Center of UNO in Ukraine. The publishing houses of Oxford University Press, Longman, Cambridge University Press.

Specialized school №16 is taking part in the ASP-net project UNESCO that provides the implementation of the ideas of peacemaking, human rights, keeping cultural heritage, taking care of the environment, and mutual understanding among different nations through the system of education.

Schoolchildren take part in international projects like: “People to People International,” “Great Volga Route”, “Global 180”, “Mondialogo”, |”Siemens” School is the collective member of the Ukrainian Movement “ Teachers for Peace and Mutual Understanding”.

In 2002-2003 years at the school №16 was implemented the special course “European Choice of Ukraine” that was devoted to learning the cultural diversity, ideas of mutual understanding and international cooperation among the countries of Europe. Nowadays this course is continued as the practical work in the “European Club”.
