History of Lyceum

   

Historical landmarks of school-lyceum ¹38 

named after V.Molchanov

  1937

Formation the secondary school ¹38 Address: Nekrasovska street, 4
Language of education - Ukrainian.
The principal: - Stetsenko D.E.

1938 - 1941

Graduation - 125 pupils
90 pupils of school took part in the Great Patriotic war.
49 men were lost.

1944 - 1953

School for boys.
Language of education - Russian.
The principals:: Reinblat M.N. (1944 - 1950), Pechenyk E.B. (1950 - 1953)

1953 - 1956

 The school moved in a new building, address: Artema street, 48
Language of education - Russian.

The principal - Yermolenko S.N.

1956

Boys and girl together.
The school again moved in a new building, address 31, Gogolivska street, where it is situated now.
Language of education - Russian.
The principal - Fedotova Z.V. (1956-1970)

1962

The classes with the detailed study of mathematics were entered. In these of year in Liceum worked known in Kiev of the teacher of mathematics: Kaplan Y. L. and Diner Y. S. In the following of year their relay race have picked up of the teaches-metodists Matusevich A. K. and Pustovoytov V. G.

1970

Burlachenko I.R., teacher-methodist was assigned the director of school (1970-1988).

Teacher-methodist, excellent student of education of Ukraine,  bearer of the order 'A Mark of honour', she is awarded the Gratitude of Kiev state administration. 

1973

Opening the museum of school history.
Teacher-veteran Stalinska F.L was the director of the museum, initiator of the school newspaper.
The publication of the newspaper 'For the honour of school' is renewed ".

1975

School was appropriated the name of the graduate, pilot-verifier V.M.Molchanov (he was born in 1940 in Kiev, in 1957 he finished school #38 with a gold medal, graduated from Moscow institute of aircraft with distinction, worked as an engineer and engineer-verifier in A. Tupolev's Construction Bureau, was perished during the demonstration flight of the first Soviet supersonic passenger plane TU-144 on Air Interior in LaBourge -France)
Beginning of Molchanov's tradition.

1978 - 1988

Building was completed.

Opening the classroom of informatics one of the first in Kiev.

The school becomes an experimental platform of Ukraine Ministry of Education on informatics.

Amount of the pupils training at school - 1115.

1988

School with the detailed study of mathematics.
Language of education - Russian.
The principal - Kozina I.P, honoured worker of education of Ukraine, teacher-methodologist, general secretary-coordinator of international programs of Association of school directors of Ukraine (USHA), member of the European association of the school leaders (ESHA).

1989

The creation of profile classes, introduction of the humanitarian directionó.
The creation of the school council.

1990

The school is licensed as Lyceum:  with the name:  'School-Lyceum #38 named after V.M.Molchanov'.
Lyceum traditions.
Transition to the Ukrainian language of education.

It became possible due to the initiative and creative persistence of the school teachers group, which it is possible to consider as the Initiators of Lyceum's creation, and their adherents, and also high authority of School ¹ 38, which have received the previous year of its(her) teacher and schoolboys.

1992

The school-Lyceum becomes a base establishment of a new type,
where new Lyceum programs pass approbation.

1993
Entry in European association of Lyceums
Creation of the international direction in the work of Lyceum.
The educational project "East-West"

1995

The school-Lyceum becomes the international center of Association of school directors in Ukraine.

1996

Licensing as 'Lyceum #38 named after V.M.Molchanov',
 which consists of school (1-6 forms) with the detailed study of separate subjects
and Lyceum (7-11 forms).
Two departments: mathematical and humanitarian.

5 specializations:
mathematics-informatics,
mathematics-economy,
literature - linguistics,
history-laws,
International relations
.

1997

 The Lyceum was visited by the President of Ukraine L. D. Kuchma


2000-2001

The Liceum celebrates the 10-years anniversary.  

First Complex Molchanov Olympiad by base subjects.

The Lyceum is reorganized in the Lyceum-university of the European level.

Amount of teachers: 84.
