Structure of the
Lyceum

Lyceum
# 38 named after V. Molchanov in Kiev is an educational institution
of a new type which provides the intermediate position between
average and high education, provides unceasing skilled education
for youths in mathematics, informatics, economy, literature, international
relations, history, laws etc.
Special feature of edication is integrity and succession as well
as ensuring the higher level, then state educational minimum from
the first degree to the third one.
The stucture of the Lyceum
is:

1-6 forms are base links of
the Lyceum with detailed study of a number of subjects (mathematics,
informatics, foreign languages, literature, laws).
7-8 forms - beginning of specialization
(mathematical and humanitarian directions).
9-11 forms - specialization
is carried out in such directions:
Mathematics + informatics,
Foreign philology,
History + Laws.

Preparation of the pupils
of the Lyceum for the further reception of education in High schools
is carried out in our Lyceum.
The profound theoretical and wide practical study of disciplines
of fundamental and applied character is carried out in close interrelation
with a higher school, in uniform scientific - methodical and pedagogical
system in the Lyceum.
Educational process exists
next to pedagogical. But if the first one is directed, on high
professional training in mathematics, informatics and humanitarian
disciplines, the second one is directed on formation free, responsible
before himself and society personality having the feeling of own
dignity, high intellectual and spiritual culture. And it is impossible
without deep studying Ukrainian national culture, without knowing
all riches of Ukrainian language. Therefore an important role
in the Lyceum is allocated to formation of the Ukrainian national
consciousness.

Modern
political situation in Ukraine, and condition in economy, in branches
of the national relations cause preparation students of the Lyceum
for life in conditions of a free-community of market economy,
variety of national cultures of the peoples, that live in the
territory of Ukraine.
Famous scientific experts and teachers of high Schools are involved
in writing programs, reading lectures and realization of seminar
occupations.
We also practise an exchange of students and teachers with foreign
establishments.
Also it's important to form international or cultural conciousness,
which means not only unity of culture, but also understanding
of differences in thinking.

The
philosophy of development of Lyceum assumes development for the
gifted Ukrainian youth honouring the Native land; national consciousness,
dignity and honour.
Understanding the problems in our country and in the world civilization;
performances about plurality of images of the world; an ability
to accept other cultures, not violent thinking; the responsible
attitude to the decision of problems of the community, country,
and all world.

The
important value is given to the problem of seizing students of
the Lyceum by high humanitarian culture, formation of worldview
based not on form, national or group interests, but on universal
values. The work of the Lyceum is organized to promote the seizing,
of the teacher and the pupil by all components of culture: experience
of activity, culture of human mutual relation.

The
introduced differentiation and individualization of training provides
development of creative capacities, talents, skills, knowledge,
of mental functions, ways of activity, which are possible in definite
age and in defenite conditions, choosing the most expedient forms
and methods of training.

|
Therefore,
creation of creative surroundings in educational establishment
today is an important task. One of the examples of such creativity
in the Lyceum is the organization of scientific work.
Scientific Lyceum community
was created 10 years ago. During two years each pupil of the 10-th-11-th
form works over a scientific theme under the direction of the
teachers of the Lyceum or teachers of high Schools. The works
are protected at the annual conference of the Lyceum.

Demonstrating
the best research works, the students of the Lyceum participated
in Ukrainian and international conferences of pupils: competitions
of scientific works of Small academy of sciences 'The Researchers
of Kiev', 5-th and 7-th Open Russian scientific-practical conferences
of the pupils on physics, mathematics, informatics, spent by the
Moscow State university after Lomonosov M.V., International conference
on human rights in Frankfurt-on-Main, in the European international
ecological project in Bruxelles.

The
development of world culture through national prism helps to form
the outlook of a citizen of Ukraine capable to work not only in
his/her own country, but in the world.
|
|
That
is why such important value in the Lyceum is given to the international
direction of work and participation in the international educational
programs. The annual students of the Lyceum trips abroad are considered
an obligatory part of education, oriented on the European level,
on education of the citizen devoted to Ukraine, open to the whole
world.
|
|
The
contents of education in Lyceum #38 named after V. Molchanov is
more satisfied in comparance with general educational establishments.
It is directed on general educational preparation of gifted, talented
youth. In particular, on mastering several foreign languages,
philosophy, logic, rhetorics, profound specialization of mathematical,
humanitarian, economic, historical profile etc.
The main idea is to form a Lyceum-university, Lyceum of nation
European orientation.

The
school is a social organization, an institute of culture and real
link between an individual and society in fastening and preservation
knowledge worked out by the mankind, in formation of the personalities.
The cultural context of education
in the 21 century will be determined for democratic communities.
The well developed infrastructure of knowledge is important for
our material and spiritual values in future, because the school
of future begins today.
It
is also formed from the best, that exists in the world in the
sphere of education. Lets use it.
