The
group of students of our Lyceum have been an active participant in the
Esperanto movement of Eastern and Western European countries.
This
work began in 1993 when an Esperanto study group began it's work in Lyceum.
Esperanto has been included at the curriculum of Lyceum. At the first
years the students of 9 Forms were acquainted with it, then it was included
into the curriculum for 7 Forms.
Now the students of 6 Forms get acquainted with this language.
Of course, it's difficult to make Esperantists from the students by one
hour per week during the whole year but this purpose isn't settled. The
children are given an idea what Esperanto is, Who, when and for what purpose
began to create that international language, what is grammar features
are.
Then, those who wish, as we know by experience there are always such persons,
continue study Esperanto as an optimal subject (an elective curse).
The
Esperantists of our Lyceum have been taking part in many international
programmes and meeting for these years. They are: World Congress of Young
Esperantists (St. Petersburg, 1995), festival 'Esperanto - the language
of Aot' (Minsk, 1996; Ivanova, 1998; Kyiv, 1999), meetings of young Esperantists
in Ukraine, Poland, Germany and France.
Lyceum
has become a parter in the international programme 'Interculture'. The
students learning Esperanto form so called virtual group (class), which
is one of 98 classes of virtual school named after famous Esperantists
Tibor Sekel. The group of students of our Lyceumhave been to the real
students meeting at this virtual school, which took place in krakiv (Poland).
