Ukrainian - German educational project.

          

           Educational - cultural project with cultural - linguistic direction between our Luceum and the school from German town Lobenstain started in 1998. The goal of this international project was more profound aquaitance with system of education, culture, traditions of the people, an improvement of possession of foreing language, establishing of friendly relations among pupils of Ukraine and Germany. A confimation of these is a permanent correspondance with German and Ukrainian teenagers.

 

  Tasks:
  1. Acquaitains with economic, historical - social and cultural systems of both countries.
  2. Acquaitains with a system of education.
  3. Improving in learning the foreing languages.
  4. Sharing of experience and innovatory methods of teaching.
  5. Lay down the foundations and exchange of text-books and fiction (belles - letters).
  6. An exchange of the deligations between the students and the teachers.
  7. Improving the teachers' professional skill (mentioned in) the contract (the agreement).
  8. Ecological problems nowadays and the ways of their solution.
 

 

Forms of the work:
  1. Exchange of the pupils (the students) for iproving in learning the foreing languages during an educational process, acquaitance with History, Culture and Traditions of the country.
  2. Holding the students' conferences on the subjects:
    - economical
    - social
    - youth
    - concord of Europe.
  3. An exchange of the delegation between the teachers for improving the teacher's professional skill:
    - teaching the foreing languages
    - an exchange of text - book and fiction
  4. An exchange of the pupils for the purpose of summer rest and health care
  Term of validity of the project: The initial agreement (contract) was signed for the 3 years term.
The number of meetings: 2 times in a year - in autumn and spring.
Financial expences: The guest's receiring party bears the whole of the cost expenses, including accomodation in the families and participation in the programme:
Treveling expenses: at the students' own expense.
 
Brief chronology:
1997, April   Ukraine   An exchange of the students (pupils). Test trip, first - hand acquaitance with the conditions of residence.
1998, Spring   Ukraine   An exchange of the students.
1998, Spring   Germany   The delegation of the Lyceum's teachers and leaders in Loubenstain. Conclusion the agreement of futher cooperation.

          Owing to this project the students of our Lyceum have an opportunity to learn German profoundly and to get practice in communication, to learn much about history, culture and traditions of Germany. For this purpose our German friends organize interesting cultural - cognitive programmes for us. While in Germany the students of our Lyceum not only visited various lessons but took part in preparation and conduction German and Russian Lessons.

         There are some Ukrainian student's statements:Ann Borodinets: 'Attending German firstly we didn't understand enought but gradually we began understand and dasp German by ear. So we noticed we had known something. I enjoed immesely to play teacher, but not everything has turned out well, but I hope I'll do my best next time.'

 
       While in Germany our students learned the history, the culture and traditions of the country German part has prepeared (worked out) an interesting excursion programme, provied for visiting the most well - known places of interes of Turingia.

     Our delegation has been to Veimar - a cultural historycal center of Turingia. Gethe and Shiller life and creative work conected with this town.Visiting Geyhe museum - house we if have met with that great writer and his surrounding.
Besides, Veimar is an old trade center where the fair are usually taken place. They are a real holyday for the guests of the town. We were enjoined when teking part in one of this fairs. There was a Day of Onion.

 
      Jena is one of the oldest town in Europe, where the first planetarium in Europe was opened and Jena University has more than 400 years.
Goethe, Shiller, Gegel taught at Jena University. The students of our Lyceum have felt the Medical spirit of this educational institution.
 
     Erfurt - the capital of Turingen. This is one of few German cities where the central part kept it's original appearence. Thanks to German friends the pupils of our Lyceum have broadened their outlook, enriched both spiritually and intelectually.
 
       The concert programmes were prepeared by the delegations of Lyceum ¹38 have introduced Ukrainian folklore to German friends. The secondary school boys and girls welcomed Ukrainian folk music and dances with great interest.

       After the consert German audience expressed their delight with thanks.
Fisher: 'I've seen Ukrainian folk dances and heard melodius (tuneful) songs for the first time in my own life and I'd like to join the perfomers for singing and dancing with them.'

 
       Our German friends from Lobenstain have been visiting Kyiv for several years.
According to this project Lyceum ¹38 works out the programmes during their visit. They provied participation in the educational process as well as some measures aimed German guests at first - hand view of Ukrainian culture and history .
  The German students have given some good references to:
 
  • Cristina Linke: 'Everything was interesting: the lessons were attended and the cultural programme made out by our friends'.
 
  • Norma Lene: 'We are leaving for coming back again to this beautiful city and to our friends. Unfortunately, time flew. Thanks you very much for the excursion to Pecherska Lavra, wonderful walk to Andryivsky Uzviz, the tour of the city.
    We keep all our impressions on photos for looking through them in winter and recalling wonderful days when we were in your beautiful city'.
  • Swen Beterman: 'Thanks to participation in this project. I feel myself as a new person, I've broadened my outlook; I realized the European culture I belonged to was much more deeper and richer that I had thought before. I've been to Ukraine for the first time and I'll never forget people who welcomed our delegation and were so sinciredy and hospitable'.

 

     We consider the European integration scientific and cultural spheres to be very important today. It is getting deeper in spite of difficulties which experience a number of European countries. Within of this process the goal marked out according the project Ukraine - Lobenstain is important, significant and has good prospects on the verge of the centuries.
